Wireless Broadband
How does it work? What areas does it work in?How much does it cost? How do I get it?
  What is Wireless Broadband?

Wireless broadband is a high-speed internet connection that does not require a phone line or fibre cable. Instead of cable, a radio is installed in your building which is used to connect you to the Internet in the same way that a television aerial connects you to a TV broadcast.

What are the benefits of wireless over cabled broadband?

The two main ways of getting broadband are through your phone line (ADSL) and through a wireless receiver.

To get broadband through your phone line you must first have a phone line and be paying a rental for it. The broadband speed available to you depends on your proximity to the phone exchange.

Wireless broadband does not require a phone line, and with the advent of high quality internet phone services it is becoming increasingly common for people with wireless broadband to cancel their phone lines.

Wirless broadband requires you to be within range of a mobile mast. If you are, you will be eligible to receive the hightest broadband speeds.

  How reliable is wireless broadband?

That question can be answered with another - How reliable is your mobile phone if you are in good range of a mobile phone mast? In the same way, our service is also very reliable as we use a similar technology. In fact, one of our most popular products is manufactured by Motorola.

Our broadcast radios typically run at 99.99% reliability.
